WHAT ARE
BALLOONS MADE FROM FROM ?
Today's
latex balloons are 100 per cent natural and are made from the milky sap
obtained from natural rubber trees {Hevea Brasillensis}.
There are cheaper balloons on the market made with a mixture of rubber etc
but they do not biodegrade.
WE ONLY USE 100% Natural Latex Balloons that are Biodegradable.
The rubber
tree originated in the tropical forests of South America and was taken to
Europe from Brazil - hence the Latin name. It is now grown on
plantations in many tropical countries. The latex is collected in
buckets, as it drips from harmless cuts in the bark (a process much like
the one used to collect maple syrup). This sap is used to make latex
balloons and other products, such as surgical gloves and condoms, which
make rubber trees economically valuable, which discourages people from
cutting them down and provides a environmentally friendly and valuable
revenue to many third world countries.
